  • Ridgid 12" Sliding Compound Miter Saw

My saw is 3 years old and now the lower plastic Blade Guard will not pop up out of the way during a cutting operation. The link Actuator does not seem to be moving the Guard out of the way?? All the parts look fine and in place!

Has anyone had a similar problem....?

Have you taken the blade off of the saw recently? The reason I ask is that the first time I ever removed the blade from my CMS I didn't quite put everything back together correctly and my blade guard acted the same way.

I had the same problem, I replaced the black arm piece, something had bent it just a little and caused the blade guard to not come up at all.
