  • 15" rigid drill press pulley issue

Hi all, I just purchased the rigid 15" drill press from home depot. I followed the instructions and have the motor pulley level to the spindle pulley. However, it appears as though the idler pulley is sitting too high. It appears fully seated. Is it possible to adjust the height of the spindle pulley? Also, do people leave that little plastic cone on top of the spindle pulley? When i let the spindle retract it lifts that cone and presses it into the upper cowling?

    Thanks,
    Brian

I don't know the answer to your adjusting the height of the pulleys, but I removed the "little plastic cone", as you called it. I figured it was just another piece of packing material, as it seems to offer no other advantage.

Dont know about the ajustment but I left my plastic cap on. It keeps the grease off everything for me.
