  • Model RD80701 Power Washer - Pump Lubrication Question

I just picked up an RD80701 3000 PSI power washer with a Cat 3GXT27 pump. The Cat pump came with a packaging tag that said to check lubricant level before each use and change after every 50 hours of use. However, unless I missed it, I couldn't find anywhere in the manual that indicated what the lubricant level is suppose to be, or what type of lubricant I am to use.

Can anyway advise on this? Your help is appreciated.

10W30 synthetic, halfway up the sight glass. And be SURE to remove the little black shipping plug from the red oil fill cap.

      Thank you!

I ran the sprayer for 3-4 minutes before removing the packaging vent plug (initial engine start up - mainly it was just the engine idling, but I used pump for 20-30 seconds to test it out). Any cause for concern?

      Thanks again.

No cause for alarm if that's all it ran.

I work on two or three a week where the plug has been left in the cap. Sometimes it just causes a little oil to blow by the pump shaft seal without causing damage. But other times it blows the seal completely out and ruins the pump.
