  • Rigid R4141 Cut-off saw trips the breaker.

Just purchased a Rigid R4141 abrasive cut-off saw. Every other time I start up the saw it trips the breaker. I have checked the wiring and it all seems to be in good condition. Tested the power cord and there are no issues with it. Any ideas?

motors all draw a lot more amperage while starting. especially if under a load.

    what size breaker is installed?

any other loads on that breaker?

breakers do get weaker every time they trip. you might try a different outlet or swap out the breaker.

normally for high amperage tools like this, i use a dedicated 20 amp circuit.

if all else fails, try bringing it to the neighbors house and see if it still acts up.
