  • Help! Chuck fell out.

    Greetings,

I own many Ridgid power tools but today is my first problem.
So, I was using my Ridgid compact drill model R86007 and the chuck just fell out. I'm pretty sure all the parts are there. I can put it back in and it spins but I can't seem to figure out how it tightens. Can someone offer me some assistance.
Oh and if it matters, this was a reconditioned drill that I purchased 2 months ago.
    Thank you

Snap ring came off the spindle shaft. Milwaukee's 2401 was prone to that as well. Should be a warranty repair, so don't attempt it yourself.

      Thanks "Dr."
I purchased this in the U.S. and it's reconditioned, so warranty???

Do you have an exploded diagram of where and what size snap ring I need and where it goes as I will have to try and repair it myself.

It's not a service item. The entire gearcase assembly will require replacement. You won't find a parts breakdown that goes into that kind of detail. Part number is 210039001, price is $95 up (depending on source).

As far as warranty, it depends on where you bought it, when you bought it and what kind of warranty they offered. Call Ridgid Customer Service and provide them with those details. They'll explain your options.

$95I only paid $75 for the drill/2 Li-Ion batters/charger and case. Oh well....
Again, I thank you for your help.

            Anyone need a paper weight?
