  • Problem with a MS12501 12" miter saw? DIY repairable??

    Hello,
I have a 12" miter saw. When I hit the trigger, the saw has a very labored start-up. And during start-up, the blade seems to have a slight shimmy to it. Once it gets up to speed, it smooths out but I have also noticed, it has an inconsistent cut.
Any suggestions as to what it might be and any advice if it is DIY repairable?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    JB

Remove the blade. Then see if the motor binds when you start it.
You may simply have a bent blade and it must be replaced!

Before you dive into more complex challenges read the manual, let us know if
you are the original owner or did you acquire this used?

The blade good and I'm the original owner. Also I'm a DIY'er so the saw gets used but not heavy use like a professional.

Hopefully you registered the saw into the Limited Lifetime Service Agreement Program. If you did, then just take it to your local authorized service center and let them deal with it as any service needed will be at no cost to you.
