  • Rigid 4512 table saw "chirps" on start up

I've had this saw since March of this year. It's an awesome saw, but recently it has developed a "chirp/squeak" when I start it up. After the initial start up it's quiet and runs smooth. Anyone have a similar sound or any ideas how to fix it? According to the manual it doesn't require lubrication. Maybe there is a build up of sawdust around the arbor?

Maybe a drive belt squeak. Check tension and if ok you could try some belt dressing if it is getting a bit hard

I don't know if this is relavant for a table saw but my miter saw was making a racket when it started, then ran smooth, then screamed when stopping. I wiped oil on the washer (the side that comes into contact with the blade) that holds the blade on either side & the noise stopped. It was recommended in the manual to oil those areas when installing a blade. Maybe that might help???
