I just bought the new driver and impact combo because of the LTW. On my first attempt to use the tool- to drive a lag bolt with the impact driver, it twisted the socket shaft right off inside the housing. I called the service center and neither the pounding or drilling the tech suggested did anything but drive it to the bottom of the hole. I even tried a strong magnet and tapping it with a punch to try to loosen it.
Any other suggestions? Real bad first impression...

My suggestion would be to return the combo and replace it with another. You have 90 days to return a Ridgid product to HD with no questions asked. In your case, it would be obvious why you are returning it.

    Also, what is a LTW?

Wait, the tool is fine, right? The attachment you were using broke off in the tool, correct? If so, were you using an impact rated driver tip?
