I recall the torx screws are under the rubber feet.
you should be able to easily pry the rubber feet/bumpers out

thanx i found that right after the email but i cant fix it, so i bought the new x4 series multi chemistry but the manual says 2 different things that i can charge all batterys 9.6 thru 18v slide back
i have X2 18v ni cad and X3 li-ion 18v batteries from previous years, but the manual says,
For use with 18v ni-cad and 18v li- ion battery packs, see tool/appliance/battery/charger correlation supplement 988000-302 or 988000-378
what does this mean the batterys seem to slide on just fine but i dont wanna start charging if not ok

Yes you can use it. The X4 Charger is backwards compatible and can charge ni-cad batteries as well as li-ion. You just can't charge your li-ions with your old ni-cad charger.
