  • RIDGID battery charger question

I've had a Ridgid dual station battery charger for a number of months now and when you place batteries on it to charge, a fan turns on to cool the batteries. I recently purchased another Ridgid tool that came with a single station battery charger. When I place batteries on it to charge, there is no fan that comes on to cool the battery. Is my new charger defective? Did Ridgid change the design of the chargers? Do only the dual chargers have fans? Anyone know?

    Thanks,

    Ryan

I have an 84001 3/8 18v drill that I have had for over a year now. It has a 20 minute single charger and no fan.

I have the dual that came with the 18V set and it has a fan, the single that came with the 14.4 Impact has no fan. I think only the dual has the fan and all X2 drills come with the dual charger, guess they figure the 20 min charge cycle of the non X2 does not require a fan

Thanks, Guys. I guess my new single charger is working as designed.
