The Ridgid 12" slider seems to get good reviews from the people who have purchased one. IMO, it would be fine in a shop setting but if you need to haul it arount alot its size and weight may get to be a hassle.
For a more mobile slider that will give you excellent accuracy, a look at the Makita LS1013 10" slider may be worth your while. Comparing the cut capacities between many 12" sliders and the 10" Makita slider you'll find that you won't be giving up that much with the Makita.
All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.
