  • Looking for an accessory for an Ridgid SS16501

I came across a Ridgid SS16501 scroll saw in a pawn shop. Works AWESOME!

One thing I could use would be a work light.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

Maybe this will work for you, https://www.amazon.com/Flexible-Goos...0342950&sr=8-2 , or something like it.

I received a light similar to the one Dave linked to on Amazon as a gift years ago. Mine is not the same make and I was not impressed with the light output. Mine is a LED light but it's only powered by two AAA batteries. IT has a magnetic base which is nice but the light is a greenish color and is from three small LEDs. I still have it but rarely use it. It is stuck to the head of my drill press and I sue it if I need a bit more light to position a piece when drilling. In that use as supplemental light it works OK but nothing to brag about.

Having said that I am sure years later they have improved and that there are better models out there. The concept is good and I like that mine is battery powered. Mine also has the option to be powered from AC using a wall wart. I was planning to get one but I choose not to after using the light for a bit I didn't think it was worth it.

For whatever you buy on Amazon read the reviews and the questions people have asked. Also look at sewing machine lights or reading lights, you may find something there which better suits your needs.

I use a pair of safety glasses that I got from Harbor Freight that has 2 lights attached... though I don't own a scroll saw I use it for my non lighted Jig saw.
