i just purchased a new laser miter saw, i have it all adjusted i even bought a new square to make sure, the laser line is about 2-3 mm left of the actual cut is this the way it is supposed to be and you judge by that or should it be right on the cut and something is wrong? thanks for your help

The laser line is not the cut line. There is another active thread on this subject where BrandMan explains what you are experiencing.

So than what's the laser for? If it doesn't show the cut line than how does it really help? I'm confused.

No laser would show the cut line itself unless it was actually doing the cutting.

Y'all could mount a bunch of teeny tiny lasers right into the teeth of the blade. Might be kinda costly, though.
