Short but sweet review in the Wood MAgazine email newsletter.

There is more, but don't think I can legally copy it.

Rigid Enters Portable Power Tool Fray
Last weekend in Chicago, the makers of Ridgid power tools made it clear that there's a new regime in town as they unveiled a line of portable power tools targeted at the professional user. Of particular interest to woodworkers are two series' of cordless drills, and a pair of random-orbit sanders. The "standard" drills are compact and lightweight, but deceptively powerful. We drove 3/8" x 2-1/2" lag screws easily into treated lumber using the 12-volt standard drill ($130). A fan-cooled, diagnostic battery charger tops off spent batteries in just 20 minutes. The higher-end drills, dubbed the "X2" line, feature similar power with longer run times and a dual charger that refuels two battery packs at once. On the sanding side, Ridgid's new 5" ROS proved unstoppable, even when products editor Dave Campbell put all of his weight on it. This sander—and all of the corded portables—sport 12' rubber cords with built-in cord wraps and a lighted plug that tells you when the tool is "hot." If you're the kind of person who has multiple tools plugged in at once, you'll appreciate the tool icon on each plug showing which tool the cord belongs to. These tools and others will hit store shelves about October 1, and any tools purchased by the end of this year will be covered by a lifetime service warranty. After this special introductroy offer, Ridgid tools will carry a three-year warranty.

Then I see the site has changed with new pics of the tools up top...gonna be interesting....
