no its not just you there are people that are opinionated and will not tell you what they do not like about the tool but just make you feel that you have the worst tools . may be they should help and not criticize .
I have noticed a few things though. both buildthis and 36volt are advietising new products, BUILDTHIS is trying to sell router tables he'll make him self. 36VOLT, has said in the past the ridgid is crap, then turns around and starts going off on dewalt tools. I wonder if these people ever owned to tools or worked with someone that did? I have never owned a Makita drill and I don't like it just because of the feel in my hand the the switches on some models. I can't say it's crap since i have never used it!
If either of you want to say something PLEASE DO.

i think if you are going to put down a brand of tools you better have owned it at one time or another before making Any judgment about it that way you are not making judgment based on your dislike of that brand
I'm not sure I understand your comment about "saying something, please do". I have used almost every tool out there from just about every vendor. I know each companies policies, strategies, and warranty policies. I can speak intelligently about most every tool out there although it seems like having an opinion is not always welcome on these boards. Maybe because this is a Ridgid forum that criticizing Ridgid is off limits.
Regarding advertising; 36 volt tools are not even out yet, not have I ever linked back to my site.
Go back and read my posts. I never slam a tool or company without reason. I don't think I've ever actually slammed an individual tool either. DeWalt isn't crap, but it is overpriced in my opinion. Ridgid; being forced on consumers using a price point strategy and eating it on the service agreement in an attempt to gain market share. You really think that Ridgid is going to give you free batteries in 40 years? They will if they fail as a manufacture's defect but they will also tell you that no Ni-Cd on the planet has a 40 year shelf life. Let me know how that goes in 40 years.
I don't work for Ridgid and I don't work for Home Depot but I likely know more about both than someone who works at either.
This my friends is pure ignorance at its finest! I have tried to sell hand made router tables? Wow! What forum where you on? If you read my posts I was actually showing the new router table I "PURCHASED" from www.hartvilletool.com . Jack ***!
36 volt and others that do not list the type of work you do or your age it is hard to get a good idea of your experience . i think this helps the younger members get an idea if we know what we are talking about
