  • New 2.5ah batteries

    Hi, I see that the new combo packs come with 2.5ah batteries. Does anyone know how much better these are then the regular x2 batteries as far as how long they last?

    Thanks,

    I am real interested to see some feedback on these. I had the standard batteries which are unacceptable as far as I am concerned, for a 200 dollar, 18 V drill. I was sinking 3.5" deck screws and about every dozen screws a fresh battery would die. I talked with a nice guy at Ridgid who is going to swap them out for the 2.5 Ah.

      Here's a quote from an ebay user:

      I think at least 25% longer and more even power is what I was told.
      and from an online site:

      In fact, they are 2.5 Ah NiCad battery packs and they will provide up to 34% more run-time than the competition according to Ridgid.
      Gotta live with that for now.

        2.5 = 34% more than 2.4?

        that is some good home depot math!
