How about these guys, does anyone have any experience purchasing reconditioned tools from them?

They have that cordless jigsaw listed there that so many people were looking for a little while back....... $99.00

I have never purchased anything from there, but they do seem to have a few things I have not seen before and at somewhat reasonable prices on some of them.

      Still enjoying all 10 fingers!

Looks like we’re the guinea pigs Papadan, I just pulled the trigger on the R5010 Hammer Drill.
          http://www.ridgid.com/Tools/R5010-Hammer-Drill/
I had my eye on one for some time and since it will be a seldom-used tool I figured why not gamble on a reconditioned one and save $70 on what it would cost at the local HD. Also noticed a good deal on Ryobi packs of 6 different size sanding sleeves for the Oscillating Spindle Sander that HD sells for $10, they are $3.03 at this place, scored a couple of those also. I’ll post an update as to what kind of condition the drill is in when I receive it.

I purchased the R3000 reciprocating saw from one of the Cummins truck sales when it was in town. I have used it for removing the floor of a log cabin, partial demolition of a barn and to prove it was as good as a Sawzall® I cut the roof off of a car with it. The reconditioned tools they offer appear to be pretty good and I have had no problem with my R3000.

I love it; and I was under the impression that the state of New Jersey frowned on driving vehicles with the tops cut off.

              Update on the Hammer Drill
I received it today and it appears as what I would consider normal condition for a reconditioned tool, did not look new but did not look like it had been drug around Detroit (worst roads in the continental US) behind a truck. It had a few shallow scratches and some real minor surface rust on the chuck. More importantly everything appears to function as advertised. I'm satisfied with the drill and the service received from Cummins, I saved $70 by giving up some luster and the extended service agreement, it only comes with a one-year warranty.

You watch what you buy. The reconditioned tools usually have a 90 warranty at the store, and a 1 year factory warranty after that. I bought a Ryobi planer last weekend, and so fat, it seems to be working quite well. I'll let you know how it works out. One thing to keep in mind ( at least at the stores) is that their "return" policy is for another item, or store credit. I bought a set of saw blades from them once and when I got them home, they were all bent. I took them back, and all they would do was replace them. So, I told the young man at the register that I would try another set, but if they were bent too, I WOULD get my money back. Sure enough, got the blades home and they were bent too. I took them back to the store and immediately asked for the manager and demanded my money back. He finally gave in and gave me my money, but that's not their normal policy.

Sorry, forgot about this thread. Took 2 days to recieve my order. All items were brand new and in the original Ridgid boxes. I only ordered some of the lathe accesories like extra face plates, an arbor for using a buffing wheel or drill chuck and a drill chuck. Since Ridgid has discontinued the WL1200 lathe I was very happy to get these pieces for less then half of the original price. Great, Fast service.
