The scroll saw might be alright, but i would not consider the circular saw. CS get a lot of strain even in normal usage. Highly suggest going with name brand for them.

I tend to agree with papadan. Of course you may not really be using them much, but I still would prefer to have a name brand for both. Certainly the CS.

no comment on the scroll saw but for the CS if taking budget minded approach I'd go for a skil or craftsman sidewinder using a marathon blade.

If you want a saw that you can depend on to cut: concrete, corrugated roofing, rips, compound mitres, asphalt, felt, plywood, general framing and still operate after being dropped a few times when it's cold outside prefer a wormdrive. Although not familiar with the Ridgid model, if it can perform half as well like the skil/bosch worm drives should give you a nice return.

                  Semi gloat PapaDan.

                  Runs like a Dream.

Already have cut two slots for upper and lower dados for a Book shelf cabinet

Cut thru Red Oak Plywood 3/8" deep like butter.

Both top and bottom and the cheap Chinese Plywood 3/4 stuff that has everything in it Plastic, rags, shoes, what ever is laying on the floor at the time

I do swear that this one has plastic scrap in it

But still $40.00 a sheet Looked at Woodcraft and for $75.00 theirs looked the same

                    Hitachi Products

You will be happy with any Hitachi product you get. All I've gotten have been great tools.

I was wondering why the HF stuff didn't have prices shown?

Phil, no prices shown because the links are to the HFUSA website which is their retail store website. They rarely show prices there when calling up a catalog page.

Reef12, what would qualify as a full gloat?

Nice buy on that router..... FYI If you ever decide to put that one in a Mast R Lift (Jessem) or the Woodpecker model lift the motor is the same dia. as the Makita. So it would work fine with the adater collar.

I don't buy alot of power tools from HF, but I did score this little gem last week. needed something to drill pen blanks with. Walked out the door for only $32.00 after discounts.
