  • how to repair rip fence

    I received my new rip fence lock down handle today from Rigid. It was a nice surprise since I was told on Friday to expect to wait 7-10 days. Anyway, I am having trouble figuring out how to remove the old handle and put in the new one. I removed the four bolts from the top and the four from the bottom and it still won't budge. Do I need to remove the nut at the back end that is on the long rod and pull the long rod out? Please help. I would like to finish this tonight and Rigid support is only open from 8-5. Sure makes it hard to get in touch with anyone.
    Thanks.

      Go here -->> http://www.ridgidforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7585

      Read the first post and follow the link to the assembly diagram.
      Study the exploded drawing and see how it is put together, from there you should be able to see what you need to do to disassemble it and replace the handle.
      "When we build let us think we build forever. Let it not be for present delight nor for present use alone. Let it be such work that our descendants will thank us for, and let us think, as we lay stone upon stone, that a time is to come when these stones will be held sacred because our hands have touched them, and that men will say, as they look upon the labor and wrought substance of them, "See! This our fathers did for us."
      John Ruskin (1819 - 1900)

        Thanks, Bob. I got the job done and will continue to assemble the saw tomorrow.
