  • Looking for Proper Jointer Techique Advice

What sort of pressure should be applied (if any), and where-outfeed table, infeed table, neutral, or over the cutting heads?

    I have a Ridgid 6" JP0610.

    Thanks in advance,
    Jim

As soon as the end of the stock passes the cutter head, apply enough pressure on the outfeed table to keep the stock tight against the fence and table.

Do some searching though this site, it has been discussed a couple times before and there is some good instruction and links to external info and videos.

"When we build let us think we build forever. Let it not be for present delight nor for present use alone. Let it be such work that our descendants will thank us for, and let us think, as we lay stone upon stone, that a time is to come when these stones will be held sacred because our hands have touched them, and that men will say, as they look upon the labor and wrought substance of them, "See! This our fathers did for us."
      John Ruskin (1819 - 1900)

Thanks for the pointers - just what I was hoping to find!
