  • new guy with new miter saw

hello, I'm new to the forum, but a long time lurker. I just read the thread about Ridgid miter saws being clones of the ryobi's aafter I got back from HD. I went there to buy aDeWalt 10", but after looking at the Ridgid, I bought it. This new saw looks nothing like the ryobi: it looks more like the Dewalt to me. I was so impressed with it that I bought it over the DW. I have'nt had a chance to use it except playing around cutting old boards and such, but let me tell you, this is one NICE saw. If it holds up, I would say it's the nicest 10" on the market. I was not impressed with the old Ridgid 10", but so far I definitly am with this one.

Welcome to the forums, fatboy. I've been waiting for weeks to hear an opinion from someone who has actually bought and used one of these!
I'm sure your message is music to the ears of Ridgid! Lol

      Welcome to the fourm, Fatboy.
How was the saw set up "out of the box"?
Were any adjustments needed to get it right?
      Thanks,

Just tilt your head a little and it will look straight!

        Backyard Woodworker,
The saw came set up PERFECTLY. I cut four 45's and put them together. they couldn't have made a more perfect square. By the way I used a freud 80 tooth crosscut blade, made beautiful cuts.
