  • Powertwist link belt

    I have seen a number of ads for the Powertwist link belt which is a replacement for the standard belt on a contractor's saw. According to the ads (and comments I have seen on other WW web pages), this belt is supposed to reduce vibration and increases the saw's power.

    I was wondering if anyone had an experience with these belts on (particularly on a Ridgid saw). I own the 3650 and was wondering how well this belt may or may not work to see if it is worth the money.

    I have a TS3612 and I use the Powertwist belt on my 30-something Craftsman drillpress. From what I can see, I don't think you would get any improvement over the Ridgid belt on the table saw by switching to a Powertwist.
    However, the Powertwist IS a big improvement over the standard v-belt on just about any other tool. My DP just purrs along, especially at higher speeds. Well worth the cost to replace an old v-belt. By the way, I still use the original pulleys on the DP.
