How do you tension the bandsaw blade? The instructions are poor.

Do you want the long answer or the short? I will give you the short. Crank the tension knob to the left(clockwise) if you are standing behind the saw and watch the red washer that is connected to the tension rod. You will see a scale with different fractions (1/4, 3/8, 1/2, etc). Whatever width blade you have on your saw at the moment, match the washer to the markings. When you crank the knob, the nut and washer raise up and thats how you do it.

Here is an interesting site with a pod cast about setting up a bandsaw. I thought it was pretty good.
