  • Wood Question

I recently bought some Parana or parahna Pine to build a cabinet out of. I was wondering if anyone has used it before? It is 3/4 in thick and it is lumber core. But how does it stain or take a finish is my question? I am going to stain it pecan with a satin finish. thanks for any advice.

Don't know that type of pine, but without knowing where you got it, I'll ask the obvious - make sure it has been kiln dried. I built a computer cabinet out of pine and it cracked pretty badly as it dried out. Lesson learned early on about sourcing lumber.

Found this picture of piranha pine. Not much info. I'm not familier with it but it has a nice look. Hope this image link works!!!
