  • Ho far do you stack your TS3650?

I have a few questions on Dado stacks, here we go, I have a Freud Dado stack.

At about 3/4 inch on the stack I have enough to put on the collar and nut for 5 turns or so. Does anyone use it where the collar doesnt get put on and just the nut? Or whats the minimum you spin the nut on? Its there any general rule to this?

I also wondered if you should stack the chipper wings opposite of each other or it didnt matter. Say I have 4 on but the way their positioned they seem to favor one side, will the weight start a wobbly? I think the answers no within reason since their spinning so fast.

Also the shims are a pain in the butt to get off the arbor, you have to work at them, any solutions to this? There so think im not sure drilling them a smidgen wider will be asuch a good idea.

    Thanks

The collar washer is not needed when using a dado stack. I never use it when using my dado. If you look in the owners manaul for the saw it says it is not necessary when using a dado blade.

You're correct about shims being a real pain to put on and take off. Here is one solution for you to consider.

Don't know, but it wouldn't be very hard to enlarge them if you'd like too. I would think that a dowel with some sandpaper wrapped around it would make an easy job if it.
