That handle was broken when my new saw arrived. I called Ridgid and they sent a new one and it arrived in just a few days. I think the fence handle may be a weak link for the saw. Call Ridgid customer service, they may send you a new lever for free. Yes it's easily replaceable consult the manual on re aligning the fence.
