  • Measuring tape is not only for measuring...

    Good day

Well, it looks like the "Doweling on router table" was a little bit "heavy" so, here is something "lighter"...

I'm sure that you have a few measuring tapes that you don't use but..."lets keep it, maybe one day"...if it's so, you are junk collector like me...

    Regards

Niki, you must have stayed up late one night coming up with that Idea

First question is where did you find a Pink Tape?

Second question - does it have enough recoil in the spring to pull the cord back?

        Pretty ingenious idea

Thanks for all these really inventive ideas, Niki!
I put it all back together better than before. There\'s lots of leftover parts.

You are correct, I was experimenting till quite late with rubber bands and even the dog's leash but it did not work well.

This measuring tape is of 30 feet but the 15~20 feet, worked for me the same.

The main problem was that, when I used it from the beginning of the tape, the spring did not have enough force to pool the cord back...that's the reason that I folded the tape a few times till I got the required force to pull the cord back...

The pink tape is from....the 100 Yen shop in Japan (around 90 Cents).

              niki,
I think your use of clamps is creative all in itself. I also like the idea of the "drop" power extension cords. Nice work! Gratulacje

Re: Measuring tape is not only for measuring...

you can buy retractable extension cords that hang from the ceiling but they are quite expensive. What an awesome way to make your own. Keep up the good work!

That is so usefull! and totally inexpensive. I wear the print off the front of about 3 tapes a year, so this is awesomme.

As usual great idea Niki. But I do have one questions, how long does it take to get everything out of the way when you want to use the garage door?

I know that you are kidding but...
Well, here in Poland it's better if your car doesn't stay outside for the night for 2 reasons...

*If it's winter, you'll not be able to open the door at the morning...

*If it's summer, you might not find the car at the morning....

So the car must go in every night and I'm already used to "clear the area"...it also helps to keep the garage clean because I just go with the vac all over the floor and by that, having a clean floor at the next day of work...

So here is the garage just after "clear-up" and the second pic, with the car inside...

                          Best regards
