  • Finish nailer needed

I'm in the market an it seems that the price diff between 18 ga brad drivers and 15 ga finish nailers nearlt doubles. What's the best bang for the buck (puns intended).

The difference between the two nailers you mentioned is like night and day. Alot depends on what you plan to use a nailer for. A little more info would be helpful.

Actually, the best answer could be, buy both guns. With a 15ga and an 18ga you'd be pretty well set to do most jobs short of framing and roofing.

Yea, Dave, I tend to be guilty of leaving out the details. Maybe I've learned that from 32 yrs of marriage - LOL! Anyway, I have a brad nailer but for cabinet work when I want to connect two, 3/4" pieces and use something more substantial than brads.

Chiz, if a 15ga nailer is what you're looking for, you might want to consider a reconditioned nailer.

I got real lucky a few years back and was able to pickup a reconditioned Porter-Cable DA250B for $98. I got mine through one of the Porter-Cable factory service centers. I called 1-800-848-5175 and just asked if they had any DA250B reconditioned units available.

FWIW, I've bought a number of reconditioned tools over the years and have not been disappointed with any of them.
