  • 220V Router to Choice

Hi guys, im from Argentina, here is not easy to find good products and are too expensive. I want to build an router table, and i want to purchase an router for that.
    Here i found this products

    Dewalt DW621 - 2 HP , Speed 8,000-24,000 rpm, Collet Capacities 1/4", Weight 4,0 kg - PRICE 450 USD

    Makita 3612C - 3.25HP, Speed 9,000 - 23,000 , Collet Capacities 1/2" and 1/4" , Weight 13lb - Price 590USD

    Bosch Bosch GOF 2000 CE - 2000 Watts, 8,000-21,000 rpm, Collet Capacities 1/2" - PRICE 570USD

as you can see the prices here in argentina are more than double than in USA

Dont know if in USA sell 220v Routers, but will ask some stores.

    Thanks in advance

The US uses 120v 60Hz so you will not be able to use any of those routers if you buy them from the US. If the electrical system there is 220v 50Hz you might have better luck and get a better deal looking for something on ebay from european sellers.

      Re: 220V Router to Choice

Whatever you finally decide, go with 1/2-inch collet or a router that provides both 1/4- and 1/2-inch. The 1/2-inch are four times stronger than the 1/4-inch and at least here in the U.S., there is a better variety of 1/2 cutting bits, I believe.

Check web sites for major power tool companies but do not go to the USA part of their site. Try the Europe or if you or someone you know can translate try the site for Germany. There are loads of power tools made for 200-240 Volts 50 Hertz power.
