  • Circular Saw Off-set plate

    Good day

    I have 3 CS's and each one with different "edge to blade" distance.
    Instead of making 3 separate guides, I made an "Off-set plate" for each of the CS and now, I can use only one straight edge for all the three.

    Sorry for the mm......
    25mm = 1"
    18mm = 3/4"
    8mm = 5/16"

    Regards
    niki

    I really enjoy your pictures of jigs. Have you thought about contributing to any woodworking magazines?

        Re: Circular Saw Off-set plate

        Thanks, Niki! I only have the one (ancient, but working) CS right now. Still, this method may be easily modified with a jig saw in mind, I think. You explain things so clearly, it's easy to see where it might be modified.
        I put it all back together better than before. There\'s lots of leftover parts.

          Yeap, it will work with a jig saw as well

              Thank you Papadan

              I know, but when I'm "translating" from metric to imperial, I'm trying to be realistic...you don't have 18mm (45/64") in USA.....actually I heard that the 3/4" plywood is not exactly 3/4" but a little bit less...Made in China???

              Same with the 6mm = 1/4" and actually it's less than 1/4" (6.35mm = 1/4")

              But I'm sure that you know it
