  • Planer stuck?

I don't know how to explain this, but sometimes lately when running stock thru my Ridgid 13" planer, the stock get's stuck about 3/4 of the way thru the pass. There is some black burning marks, but no snipe. The stock just sits there instead of the slow gradual automatic feed and I must pull it out.

    Any ideas?

The first thing you should do is make sure that there isn't a build-up of wood chips inside of the planer. Once you've done that, apply a coat or two of Johnson's Paste Wax to the bed and infeed/outfeed tables of the planer. If after doing that your stock is still stalling half way through the planer then you more than likely need to clean the planer's feed rollers.

I agree with BD (as normal!). I normally find cleaning my rollers will resolve the issue. I use rubbing alcohol to clean mine and works fine.
      Still enjoying all 10 fingers!

T-9 Boeshield also works quite well on the tables.
