  • 30" vs. 52" rip

i am looking at buying a TS 3650 but before i spend, i want to find out how often am i going to use a 52" rip if i were to spring for a saw with an extension table.
right now i have the cheapest jet table saw.
it actually works fine but i need a more solid saw with a better fence.
the TS3650 seems like the best for the $$$
i want the saw for cabinet making mostly. i am never going to make anything huge that can't be taken apart so i lust after the 52" rip but i am thinking a normal 30" saw would be just fine.
plus...fine woodworking mag reports that you can shift the rails to achieve a 50" that would make this a good choice...right?
