In the next few months I'm looking to get a ridgid radio arm saw. What do you think of the saw? I own a ridgid ts2424.

The radial arm is a great tool. There are cuts you can make on it that you wouldn't attempt on a TS. The Ridgid Radial has a user friendly guard system that when used properly adds to the safety issue and user comfort level. It comes with a great manual and is easy to align and holds its alignment. Good Luck

I have owned a RAS1000 for a couple of years and love it. It is a very good quality tool and based off of the quality of that tool I bought there BS1400 bandsaw Jan 2002 and just bought the new TS3612 Table Saw. I love the fit and finish and precision of the all my Rigid saws.

I also own the 2424, and the RAS. I added cabinets for storage and larger RAS stock support as seen below. Though you don't have to have anything fancy, I do suggest at least legs/frame supporting a top on both sides of the RAS. It makes ripping or cross cutting long stock much easier.

Has any of the wood magazines done a review on the ridgid RAS1000?
