    im considering buying a ridgid tablesaw but in the reviews it says you cant find dado inserts and zero clearance inserts. doesnt ridgid sell them?

    You can get them from RIDGID parts. They aren't cheap, in part because of shipping, but they fit the saw perfectly, have the proper screw holes, and you don't need to mess around if you don't want to. I spent something like $60 for the dado throat plate and a ZCI (shipped) when I got the saw.

    Alternatively, for cheap you can get a piece of MDF or plywood and use a router with a pattern bit to make your own based on the stock throat plate.

        Personally, ... I like to make my own.

        Not hard to do and a heck of a lot cheaper.

        There are a few posts on here on how to make one.
        I double faced taped a piece of oak to my existing insert and used a straight
        router bit with a bearing using the original insert as a pattern.
