  • EB4424 oscillating problem

I unintentionally posted this under General but am also posting here.

My EB4424 spindle sander has stopped oscillating and the spindle remains fully extended upward and it sounds like a gear is slipping. I opened up the gear housing and found that the retainer clip on the end of the motor shaft had popped off. I replaced it, reassembled the unit and turned it on. It made one cycle then the same failure occurred but, when I opened the housing again, the circlip was still in place. This is a very easy assembly to access and repair however, I would like some guidance on what part(s) I need to order. I have found a very clear parts digram but am not sure what to replace. I can't see any visual damage. Any help here would be much appreciated.

      Re: EB4424 oscillating problem

I don't have this particular tool, so can't provide an answer. But, I figure this post must have been missed as I occasionally have seen other posts regarding ownership my some of the other members who have the oscillating spindle sander, so hopefully now that it's back at the top of the thread, someone will provide you with an answer.

I can say that this is the first time I have seen this problem, as the oscillating spindle sander has a pretty good reputation.

Are you coverd under the LLSA... if so, that is an avenue to explore, if you can't get an answer here. Or, you could call Customer Service.

Again, I'm sorry I don't have an answer for you,
