I recently bought the Jet DC1100-CK from my neighbor. It was a little too big for the space he had in his basement shop. It has the pleated cannister filter on top and plastic bag on bottom. I was ready to pay full price ($450) at a retailer, but got it for $350. I think he may have gotten about 10 minutes of use out of it by the amount of dust in the bag. It does a great job of collecting as much dust and chips as I can throw at it. Changing the bag is a breeze and leaves almost no mess whatsoever. Though not the least expensive DC out there, I highly recommend this one.

I have just purchased a HF 2 HP DC. and am ordering the 0.5 bags from Penn. I have seen this system, and it works well.

Does anyone have any experience with Penn State Industries dust collectors?
          http://www.pennstateind.com

I've been looking at their specs, prices, and a couple of magazine reviews and they seem to be pretty good. 1 micron bags are standard and they have some nice options, etc. But, there is nothing iike a personal opinion, based on one's experience.

          Thanks in advance,

          CWS

I'd be interested in hearing first-hand opinions and experience concerning Penn State DC systems too. I am also looking at Oneida Air products, and sent away for their literature, so anyone who has anything to say about their systems I would welcome hearing about too.

There is a comparison chart of various systems with Oneida systems, of course you have to consider the source (Oneida), but they say that their 2HP system was selected as a "Top Tool" by Wood Magazine in 2003.
