  • outdoor finish

Hey all, Just about finished with making a table for the back deck. I made it out of pattern mahogany. I want this to last a while and was wondering if anyone knew of as good clear semi gloss finish I could use. I have a toddler at home, so food will come in contact with it, but obviously, no cutting will be permitted directly on the table. Any help will be very much apprieciated, (sorry for the spelling.)

I have had very good luck with the Flecto Varathane (exterior) product (the water clean-up version). I have finished a few outdoor chairs, tables and planter and it is standing up very well. Mahogany is a pretty good outdoor wood not matter what you cover it with. One of the main issues with outdoor furniture is to make sure water can run off, so on a table, my main concern is that water would not be allowed to lay on it, especially if it is outside over the winter.
