  • Cradle from new grandpa

I'm gonna be a new grandpa in March!

This is the first of many projects for my first grand child.
    An old fashioned pine cradle.
It is golden oak oil based stained with four clear coats of special semi gloss urethane.
Not sure where I'm going to put the tag yet.

Very nice work, Davet! I'm going to be a first time grandpa in early May. I'm working on the crib and changing table/dresser right now and will be adding a chest of drawers and bookcase to the set. The plans I'm using came from Wood Magazine.

Very nice Dave, a family heirloom in the making for sure.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the "John" and renamed it the "Jim". I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

          Very nicely done, Dave.
I put it all back together better than before. There\'s lots of leftover parts.

Nice cradle, and neat sign. I saw you used a pantograph to make it. Which one and how did you like it?

Thanks all, your compliments mean a lot to me.

Congrats Sawdust'nStitches, we are so blessed to be able to
do these projects for our loved ones!

cpw, that's and old Craftsman pantograph that I've had for about 15 or more years.
I have made a lot of signs and engravings with that ole tool,
works really great for larger letters and engraving, but I need some
more experimentation on letters real small like on the cradle tag.

              Sears still sells them.

I was playing around with a Dremel mounted in a Dremel router base
for making this tag, I still need a lot more practice and experimentation yet
but I was able to get the look I wanted for this tag.

              Merry Christmas folks!
