    Hello,
    Im building a wall to wall intertainment unit,
    i want to centrally locate all my plugs. this will include a elect. fireplace, under a 60 LCD t.v along with dish network recvr, game consols,dvd player, etc. etc. any ideas ??? is there a ready made box for this sort of thing

    Most devices have a plate on it that tells you haw many Watts its rated for. Add them all up and divide that figure by 120. This will tell you how many Amps the circuit needs to handle. For example a 60 Watt bulb uses .5 Amps. 60/120 = .5. In any event if it were me, I would install a 20 amp circuit (#12 wire). So a 15 Amp circuit will handle 30 60 watt bulbs, 20 amps 40 bulbs.If your total load come out to more than 20 amps then you need two circuits. Buy a metal or plastic switch/ duplex box. The metal one can be gang together to handle a half dozes duplex plugs which would give you 12 places to plug stuuf into.
