I have a steel entry kitchen door that I would like to do a faux wood grain finish on. Has anyone tried this technique? There appears to be many different ways to do it tool wise, with rubber graining combs, grain rollers flogging brushes etc. I plan on doing some practice first to get the technique down but I'd like to know what worked for you. What did you use for a base coat and what color, what type of glazes and final clear finish. I have a fiberglass front entry door that looks like oak and I would like to replicate that color on the kitchen door.
