  • Ridgid at the woodworking show

    Hello Folks!

I just returned from a day at the Woodworking Show in Tampa Florida.

Ridgid had a large poster in an unused corner of the exhibition hall.

    Theatha theatha that's all folks.

That's more than what they had in Milwaukee last year. Don't know about this year cause I didn't go.

Maybe they were there Friday and Saturday but pulled out early today or last night to move to the next venue or head home.
"When we build let us think we build forever. Let it not be for present delight nor for present use alone. Let it be such work that our descendants will thank us for, and let us think, as we lay stone upon stone, that a time is to come when these stones will be held sacred because our hands have touched them, and that men will say, as they look upon the labor and wrought substance of them, "See! This our fathers did for us."
      John Ruskin (1819 - 1900)

Well at the Somerset Woodworking show here in New Jersey Delta had the new Unisaw on display with a sales rep always alongside the saw to answer questions. Meanwhile, over at the Ridgid “tent”, there was not one table saw to be seen, only the DP, the discontinued jointer (?), and a planer for stationary tools.
Meanwhile (2) over at my local HD, the “display” photographs of the 3660 and the jointer have been removed.
        All just random observations.

I was at the Toronto (Ontario, Canada) Wood Show the end of February and Home Depot/Ridgid had a huge area showing all the orange tools. I was surprised as so many postings mentioned that there were missing in some shows this year. They were doing good business it seems.
