My neighbor gave me a 1953 Delta model 400 Jig Saw,24". Looks to be in great shape, but needs a good cleaning and re-finish. Came with stand and motor.
Looks like I have another project!
I'll post pic's when completed.

Rob,

Congrats on the acquisition!

Pardon my ignorance regarding your gloat, but what's a 24" jigsaw?? Got some pics before you clean it up, for a newcomer to WW'ing, just so I understand what I'm congratulating you on?

Back when scroll saws were called jig saws, what is now called a jig saw was often called a saber saw...

Rob, do you have a source for pin-end blades lined up?

How Sweet!
That 24" throat will come in handy on many occasions. I'm Jelous!

Well looking forward to seeing some photo's of this!

I haven't looked for any blades yet, but the manual I downloaded at Delta says it will even take 4" "saber" saw blades.
I'll get a digital camara tomorrow and take some before pictures.
