  • How to maintain granite top on R4511

I have my R4511 for a month, I've ben using a sled for many of the cross cuts. I'm beginning to see a lot of scratch marks on the table top.

Should I wax the top for less friction with the sled ?

    Thanks

After I waxed mine the scratches wipe away with a cloth swipe or two. It's also much more friction free with the table and rails waxed.

I (Johnson's paste) waxed mine as well.. the top is unbelievably smooth, you could probably blow your scratches with a whistle (ok.. maybe not THAT easy... but still...) also will help pass materials on it (lumber/sled/miter gauge/etc)

Granite, being rock, should be sealed. You can easily find any number of granite/tile sealing products. After that, apply a granite wax/polish that is carnuba wax based. Just walk into any home center and ask for granite counter top products.

Seal first, then wax. Do this a couple times a year.
