  • Laser-Trac system for Ridgid?

I really love Ridgid products and own a number of them in my wood shop. I believe them to be a superior product to Craftsmen. One thing Craftsmen does have, is a Laser-Trac system on it's 12" Compound Miter Saw. I have a Ridgid 12" saw and am wondering if there is a conversion kit that attaches to my saw?

i remember seeing an article in a wood working magazine a few months back with some ideas on how to mount a laser pointer on any miter saw with the same effect. give me a bit to find it as i am away for another two weeks on business. when i get back i will look. it would be awesome if ridgid upgraded their miter saw with a laser. not sure if they have any plans, if they dont as of yet i hope they will consider it.

Bob, if you go to the Sears web site and search for parts you can buy the arbor mounted laser to use on your saw. It comes with mounting hardware and just replaces the outer plate on the blade. It will fit any saw that has a 5/8" arbor with a bolt to hold the blade on instead of a nut. I will see if I can find my info with the part # and price. Dan

Forgot to mention, I'm hoping a Sharp Ridgid employee sees this, and comes up with the new attachment for under the christmas tree this year.

        Thanks for your input. Bob

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I seem to remember that the Ridgid 12" has a one inch arbor.

You are correct, the MS1250 has a 1" arbor.

Thought so Jake, I remember being cheesed off because you guys did it right instead of using a 5/8" like my DeWalt.
