    On a T-square fence design the lock down is only in front. The rear "rail" is usually just a piece of angle iron that makes it easy to attach an outfeed table.

      On the R4511, there is a passive rear hook that's there to prevent lifting....the rear rail only needs to extend to the point where the fence tube stops. The front rail needs to accomodate the T-bracket that clamps to the front rail on either side of the fence tube.
