  • Found another RAS

It's raining Emersons!! I found another yard sale Sears RAS...this one is a 1975 model and is in great shape. The guy said it didn't work, so I pretty much stole it from him...got home, pressed the reset button and away the motor went...sweet as the day it was made. A little cleaning up is all that it will need. Now I have one too many, but ebay will solve that problem for me!

    way to go Kelly!

Email me the link to the auction if wouldn't mind? My neighbor just built a 32x30 pole barn and want's to put a few tools in it. He doesn't want to invest in all new stuff, he just wants to fiddle around when the mood stikes him. He's the one that had the Chain Saw incident off Ebay. But being from you, I can assure him he won't end up with something that went through a fire.

    Thanks in advance Kelly

I just got finished building a new 5'x20" table for it. It has one problem that I can see. The carriage doesn't roll easily and has a place where it moves to one side a bit...causes a very slight deviation from a straight cut. I have tried messing with the wheel nuts, but haven't fixed it yet. It's also missing the elevation lever, but I can get that. Other than that, it's in great shape. not sure about shipping it though...sure would be expensive to crate and freight.

He's retired, has a HUGE 5th wheel and a Ford F250 Power Stroke Diesel. I'm sure he would enjoy the trip! He's alway looking for an excuse to use it.

Cool...I think I got the carriage problem licked...I found a little surface rust on the raceways...pulled them off and using 320 grit sandpaper, I got it all off...then I oiled them and replace them...bearings are soaking in degreaser and will be re-greased and installed tomorrow morning. The saw is in very good shape otherwise...should be worth close to $250 or so...

Well, that wasn't it...must be the bearings themselves. They are very expensive so I'm going to sell it as is.
