  • Pitch and gum remover R4330

I just bought a R4330 Planer and can't find gum and pitch remover. Does any one know a brand name I should look for? Also, how long should the blades last?

    Thanks, I'm a new woodworker.

Paint thinner or mineral spirits, works well, WD40 will work too, lacquer thinner will work to but my be hard on the paint on the machine,

If used on clean new wood they may last for years, if you try to clean up some dirty old painty crap a few passes before re-sharping may be needed,

knots can be hard on them as well, if you do get a grove, one can extend the time between sharping or replacing by sliding one blade a tad to the right or left so the groves do not line up,
