Does anybody Know of a place To purchase these. The kind where you drill a hole and pound the teenut in the hole, the nut has a little flange with 3 screw holes around it to screw it down. Rockler has these but they are all sold out. Thanks

      Re: Screw on tee nuts

Bob, I have looked at most of these places and all that I can find is the pound down type of t-nut with the 3 or 4 prongs that grab the wood, I am looking for the type that you screw down with screws, I don't know if they are even called t-nuts. I found them at Rockler and have searched the internet and I'll be dammed if I can find these other than at rockler (which is sold out). If anybody could send a link to some of these I would sure appreciate it.

      Thanks

      Joe

They have them at Lowes, I have bought them there (with the flange, not the prongs)

          Hi Joe,
Well got you partway there. Things are called stamped flange weld nuts according to the mfg, Buckeye mfg. Didn't dig through to find a retailer but here is a link:
          http://www.on-b.com/doc/nuts.aspx
They probably deal with truckloads at a time but you may be able track down a retail distributor.
I've had pot luck with the things, local hardware store isn't affiliated with anyone that I know of. He will have one size of one type and another size of the other type depending on the day of the week or phase of the moon or something.

            McMaster.com:

You can get round with holes or holes+projections (the projects should help hold it in place a little better). They are intended to be welded to metal but they work fine on wood.....I used a few of them in a project to screw some all-thread into and it worked out great.
