  • What other Wood working Forums do you folks use?

I have owned many Ridgid cordless tools for years and love them. I joined this forum in June of 09. I enjoy coming here to get ideas and to learn from others. I was wondering what other forums my fellow Ridgid forum members use?

I have found www.LumberJocks.com to be great for general wood working discussions.

I also have a Radial Arm Saw and found a forum specific for this tool - http://forums.delphiforums.com/woodbutcher

So What other forums are out there - what do you like??

SMC is a good forum EXCEPT for their policy of not allowing posting
of URLs to content on other forums.

When I put up a link to my outfeed table thread on here a couple
years ago it was removed by big brother and classified as inappropriate.
"When we build let us think we build forever. Let it not be for present delight nor for present use alone. Let it be such work that our descendants will thank us for, and let us think, as we lay stone upon stone, that a time is to come when these stones will be held sacred because our hands have touched them, and that men will say, as they look upon the labor and wrought substance of them, "See! This our fathers did for us."

Woodnet forums, SMC, and FOG (Festool Owners Group).

Also, Woodmagazine.com and occasionally Taunton's FWW site, though I let my online subscription lapse.

SMC and Lumberjocks. Haven't been on woodnet for several years now, but when I do go there it could be a pretty rough place if you didn't agree with their member. If you get along with the folks at Woodnet you won't have any problems. Dissent was not allowed.

SawMillCreek and Tracksawforum for Track'd saws. SMC seems to be Festool-centric and Tracksawforum is EZSmart-centric. After a lot of review, I went with the EZ system primarily due to cost and I'm quite happy with it. Based on numerous user comments, I think both systems are very good and each has it's following (vocal and otherwise).

Look on ebay and craigslist. I lucked into an almost new one in great condition on ebay, for $215. Had to drive across the state (FL) to get it, but it gave me a good excuse to visit my daughter. Those type deals may be infrequent, but they do happen.

BT3central.com had been my main site for years and still is. I found out about this site from a post on that one.
