I am in the market for a new lathe. I am looking a the Ridgid or the new Delta lahe. Any thoughts. These two kinda fit my budget.I would like to turn up to 10" bowls, bed posts for a project and smaller spindals.

i hate to say this on a ridgid forum and i qualify it by saying i own several ridgid tools and really like them, but!!! the lathe is about the poorest design around the low speeds are to fast the speed change is "unfriendly" and the design is not readily adaptable to a duplicator (dont say you'll never need one, thats what i thought ) I'd spend the money for the delta or jet (not the midis either anything you can do on a midi you can do on a full size not vice verse) if i ever get the moola id like to try that new nova dvd 3000 best of luck bill
